References & Testimonials
I have been a practicing veterinarian for twenty-two years and have owned or been part owner of three clinics. During that time I have been associated with many animal behaviorists and trainers. Howling Success/ Kris Berg has proven to be the most professional I have experienced in my career. I have known Kris for five years and have referred many of my clients to her for behavior issues and for training for dogs from puppy to older adults. All those whom I referred were very satisfied with the results. I have also had Kris train a new six-year-old dog I acquired and was thrilled with the change I saw in that dog. Kris is very grounded in her training and it is obvious that she puts all of her training to good practice. Kris also has an excellent boarding facility. I have boarded my dogs at her facility and the dogs feel like they are part of her family. I would not hesitate to recommend Howling Success to a client or a friend for training, behavior problems or boarding.

On a personal note, I have found Kris to be a hard worker. She is someone who devotes all of her energy to the job at hand. She is also honest and trustworthy. This is one more reason why I have no problems with leaving my dogs in her capable hands.

Being an animal rescue organization we get many dogs who have been abused, neglected or just in need of training. Some come around but others need to be trained or rehabilitated. We have had numerous situations where we have needed your expertise. Kristines training methods have not only found these animals new homes but in some cases saved their lives.

The training sessions with our volunteers was fantastic. After just a few short hours of working with you they were excited to go home and use what they had learned about behaviors and how to better handle their foster dogs. Today we have better behaved fosters and personal pets all because of you!

Kristine was always willing to help us when we had an animal in need and on their behalf I cannot thank her enough.

Kristine has been a wonderful addition to the Charleston area. We are very sorry to see her go to a new home but want to share with you the confidence we have in your professional abilities.

We have always been impressed with her up to date training methods. She has demonstrated thorough knowledge of routine training and for specific behavioral problems. The feedback we get from our clients and the results we have seen are always very positive. We have always been confident that she could deliver the kind of high caliber experiences that our clients expect.

In additon to her skills as a behavioral counselor and trainer, she also communicates well and clearly with many kinds of people. It is obvious she derives a great deal of pleasure from seeing dogs and their owners achieve goals that they thought were unobtainable and to restore the bond between them. I would always recommend Kristine unconditionally. She is an asset to veterinarians, breeders and owners and especially to their pets.

When my husband and I first decided to get a Great Dane we knew that we had to take him to obedience school because of his size. We were new to the area and a veterinarian recommended Howling Success to us, so our dog, Cooper, started puppy training class. Kristine socialized him with other dogs and began teaching us how to walk him on a leash. We felt that Kristine was very knowledgeable about all types of dogs and their individual behaviors. We loved how she always began puppy class by discussing individual problems and how to solve them. It was so helpful how she taught Cooper to lie down to play with other dogs so that they would not be intimidated. Cooper loved going to class each week! The adult dog class was just as helpful!

We loved how she gave us the techniques to work with Cooper at home on basic behaviors like sit, down, stay, and walking on a leash. She was very firm with our dog when he was not doing the right thing, but Cooper still today loves going to see her. Through working with Kristine, Cooper is a wonderful, calm dog with wonderful manners toward adults, children, and other dogs. He is able to go to parks, festivals, schools, and is invited to come to people’s home all the time because of his behavior. When we are flying and can not take Cooper with us, we would not think of leaving him with anyone besides Kristine.

It is so much fun to see how as soon as we let him out of the car he goes to play with the other dogs. We always feel a little guilty about picking him back up because he has such a good time. We know that he is getting to run around with the other dogs and is getting the best attention possible from you. Thank you for helping us to have such a wonderful Great Dane!

I thank Kristine for helping me understand how to communicate with Wrigley. We had gone through two dog trainers prior to deciding on Howling Success, and I was in tears and ready to give up on Wrigley. Wrigley is a big dog and as a small female, he constantly challenged my authority. Every night, we went through what I called his crazy hour where he would run through the house running, jumping, and nipping at me. Nothing the other dog trainers recommended would help. He was clearly playing, but out of control. Each time the doorbell would ring, Wrigley would tackle everyone at the door thinking they were there to play. He would also kiss their whole face. As we moved into the new house, Wrigley thought it was fun to pull up whole pieces of sod and rip them to shreds. Walking on a leash was a real challenge. Wrigley is strong, and it looked like he was walking me. I was really at my wits end with Wrigley. As a result of your training, I learned how to get through to Wrigley that I am the boss. Today, he is a gentle, loving, happy dog. He no longer tackles people at the door but sits and greets them with a wagging tail. He quickly stopped tearing up the yard, and would rather get belly rubs than jump on people. Taking him for a walk is a pleasure and he does not pull. He walks on my heal. He also waits for me to walk down the steps and never pulls me down like before. I cannot thank you Kristine enough. Because of her training, Wrigley is a welcome addition to the family.

Not only has my Sheltie Jack learned a lot, but I have learned even more. Now I know so much more about how dogs think, why they do what they do, and how to get them to behave the way I want while making it fun for them. My dog is happy, friendly with people and other dogs, and very well trained. Kristine has done a super job with Jack, and with me!
